The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) announced on November 3 that Inspirit’s Community Impact granting program is one of the eight initiatives that received an honorable mention in the 2014 CRRF Awards of Excellence. The Community Impact program was selected among an unprecedented number of submissions from across the country.

The CRRF Awards of Excellence recognize public, private and voluntary organizations whose efforts represent best practices in building an awareness and understanding of Canada’s rich diversity. Initiatives were selected according to six areas: Aboriginal Peoples, Community, Corporate, Education, Government and Youth.

“We are very honoured to see our Community Impact program recognized by the CRRF,” said Andrea Nemtin, President and CEO of the Inspirit Foundation. “Since 2012, the Community Impact program has provided $800,000 in grants to 45 community projects across Canada. These projects bring together young people aged 18-30 of different backgrounds and beliefs to dispel stereotypes and discover what they have in common, while collaborating on a community project.”

Inspirit recently announced the 15 new project that received a grant through the Community Impact program. Meet the grantees.
